Hi, I’m Katy Mueller!

For the past 13 years, I've had the privilege of teaching upper elementary students—five years in Katy ISD and the last eight years at Hunters Creek Elementary in Spring Branch ISD. This coming school year, I will transition from the classroom into a Math Intervention Specialist role, continuing my passion for helping students grow into confident, capable learners.

Throughout my career, I've had countless conversations with parents who share the same concerns:

"My child is bright, but they forget assignments."

"They lose everything."

"They don't know how to study."

"They wait until the last minute."

"They struggle to manage their time, stay organized, or take ownership of their responsibilities."

These challenges are especially common among students with ADHD and other executive functioning differences—but the truth is, many students have never been explicitly taught these skills.

What makes this work especially meaningful to me is that I was one of those kids.

In seventh grade, my parents enrolled me in an organizational skills camp at SMU. At the time, I absolutely hated it. But looking back, it became one of the greatest gifts they ever gave me. The strategies I learned helped shape the way I approached school, managed responsibilities, and eventually found success as an educator.

Over the years, I've seen firsthand how transformational these skills can be. Executive functioning skills like organization, planning, time management, self-awareness, study strategies, and task initiation don't just help students succeed in school—they help them build confidence and independence for life.

That's why I created Elevate.

My goal is to partner with students and families to provide practical tools, individualized support, and encouragement that empower students to become more independent, prepared, and confident in their abilities. I believe every child is capable of growth, and with the right support and strategies, they can learn to thrive.
